Zoe-perry
Perry is she is Chicago native born to Laurie Metcalf and Jeff Perry. On the ABC sitcom Roseanne (as as seen through flashback) her mother portrayed Jackie Harris in two of Perry's initial TV roles. The parents of her didn't want her to take on acting roles until she was an adult fearing the effect of stress. Perry acknowledged that she was not at ease in the stage during high school. She began acting to meet new people at Northwestern University after switching from Boston University. Perry moved to New York, where she was offered small roles in shows like Law & Order: Criminal Intent. Homesickness then caused Perry her back home California, where theater jobs were available. The Other Place was performed by her mother and her in 2013 on Broadway in 2013. Her father Kevin McKidd performed in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer prize-winning film Anna Christie alongside her in 2015. In 2016, Perry appeared on nine episodes on ABC's drama The Family. In 2017, she starred in her own recurring part on her own ABC Political thriller Scandal with her father. She played the role of a younger Mary Cooper (Sheldon Cooper's mother) in Young Sheldon. This spin-off episode that was part of the CBS show The Big Bang Theory was another portrayal by her younger mother. The role was offered to her by auditioning for an open role despite having a connection to this character.
