Ina Gardner is author of many well-known American cookery books. Ina also hosts Barefoot Contessa on Food Network. It began in 2002. Ina started her career as a writer in the White House, writing the nuclear energy budget as well as policy papers. While she initially found the work intellectually stimulating she eventually lost interest. Then she bought an Barefoot Contessa a small speciality food shop.
